The Stockton Inn Tavern is surely one of the older and possibly one of the first, taverns in New Jersey having received its operating license in 1796. Initially, known as the “Farmer’s Bar”, the tavern was in what is currently Bush’s Dining Room, but was moved into its current location within the Inn in 1832.
The Stockton Inn Tavern today hosts a nostalgic setting with a unique tin ceiling, tin walls, classic bar stools, and tables. Masterfully created by a local tin smith, the ceiling and walls are roughly as old as the addition built in 1832. When the weather permits, customers enjoy casual outside dining under the Stockton Inn’s front porch watching the quaint Borough of Stockton conduct its daily business.
Seldom does a day go by when the local residents don’t stop by to meet each other and discuss the events of the day. Take a few minutes from your busy schedule to enjoy a pint with us in the local town Tavern!
